The
Lectern
The Lectern shown on this picture is sometime where the Bible or service books
rest and from which the reading from Scripture are sometime read during the
service. This is located on the north side of the church and east end of
the nave. The lectern is normally set in front of the believers. If the
Holy Bible is read by a Bishop, Priest or Deacon, the clergyman with
lectern faces the congregation. This Lectern is made of wood, and fixed in
place. A lectern differs from a pulpit, the latter being used for sermons.
